Corporate Group Sound Therapy Events
I have been an employer and an employee and have worked in high pressured industries, demanding deadlines, dealing with the hardest most challenging of customers, add into the mix financial worries , family responsibilities, study, delayed projects, lets face it they are all additional pressures. So I wasnt surpsrised after years of this “drip drip effect” that I suffered burnout and became very ill.
I know in the lead up to being absent from work that a high percentage of employees hide the fact they are on a slippery downward slope, becoming less productive, less ambitious, less motivated, becoming ill and then go off with stress related illnesses, but nothing really changes on the surface does it. We just go backa nd start all over again.
How is it we just come to feel like we are on a treadmill ,just functioning enough to get by unnoticed. It becomes to feel numb and robotic and leads to us being desensitised to it all.
I luckily found holistic approaches during my burn out phase, and so I know it helps. If only these had been around in my early career days. Wellbeing today in the work place recognises the need to look after the employees and offer an array of wellbeing sessions.
However I really think that there is a big effect on staff when they feel cared for and that their welfare matters. They feel much more motivated and their head space becomes clearer and so does focus and their productivity. I came to realise that I had to be able to manouvere within my lifestyle and not get affected by what it threw at me. This only happened because I was taught how to go within and reflect on what emotionally and physically I was storing and that was blocking my energy.
My use of Reflective techniques combined with therapeutic sound enables us to gain an insight into a person's process and empower them to make life-changing improvements to their lifestyles, health and wellbeing. Sessions can be for pure relaxation but also can be used with a reflective process which can get to the deep rooted issues that may be getting in the way of life and thus productivity.
Why it's important for businesses to focus on their employees wellbeing?
An investment in employee well-being can result in increased resilience, improved employee engagement, a reduction in sickness absence, and a greater level of performance and productivity.
Employer-employee relationships are no longer limited to paychecks.
Today, health and wellness in the workplace are more important than ever, regardless of how small or large your business is.
Think about the hectic schedules, the extended sitting periods and the quick fix meals you consume between meetings. This can all result in high stress levels and absenteeism thus diminishing productivity, let alone the employees.
We are not experiencing a new trend when it comes to the importance of wellness at work. This ideology was perfectly illustrated by Abraham Maslow in 1943 with his Hierarchy of Needs triangle. Based on the theory, as basic needs are met, more rewarding needs can be reached at the top.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23902918
A company’s success is heavily reliant on the performance of its employees, so it’s imperative for them to be in good mental and physical shape to perform their roles to the fullest.
What participants had to say
I attended a yoga retreat this past weekend where Angela facilitated a participatory drum circle and immersive sound bath. There were about 18 women in attendance. We walked into the drum circle some curious, some shy, some ready to start their own band lol. Angela patiently taught us basic beats in a what transpired into joyous and rhythmic patterns that allowed us all some spontaneity to be heard while breaking down barriers and allowing us to come closer together as a group. I have been to many sound baths but Angela’s was the most comprehensive production I have ever witnessed with crystals, candles, lighting, sound bowls, gongs, chimes and other percussive and earthly instruments. We were guided into a gentle meditation by our yoga teacher before transcending through the various sounds, vibrations and auditory delights of the sound bath. Angela’s knowledge for the various layering of sounds is approachable and she allowed space for everyone to electively share their experiences in a safe and supportive container. I left feeling grounded yet energized and ready for a deep deep sleep. I wouldn’t hesitate to call on Speedwell Sound Therapy for group or 1 to 1 therapy sessions. Angela is passionate, knowledgeable and an absolute joy to meet.
I love attending Angela's sound baths they are so relaxing it really balances me for the month ahead. She is so knowledgable about what sound does to your mind and your body its so interesting and really helps me with my mental health and wellbeing.
I have also attended the drumming circles which are amazing too, she gets everyone involved with easy to use instructions for those who have not played before, like myself. Great for beating out those rhythms and letting go of tension and stressors.
Finding someone who knows what music and instruments to play to really shift the stagnant energy and rebalance me and knows all about what sound can actually do to your wellbeing is well worth the investment, every time.
Thanks
